Results showed that five viral families are prevalent in human cancer. These include the Papillomaviridae, Polyomoviridae, Hepadnaviridae, Flaviviridae, and Herpesviridae. Viruses were detected in 7.5 – 98.8% of patients of seven cancers: bladder carcinoma, cervical squamous cell carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, liver hepatocellular carcinoma, rectum adenocarcinoma, and stomach adenocarcinoma. [Cantalupo PG, Katz JP, Pipas JM. Viral sequences in human cancer. Virology. 2018 Jan 1;513:208-216.] Having found that viral sequences were present in most of the files they analyzed from human tumor databases, the authors pointed out there are two possible explanations: first, a given virus may be present in human tissue because it infects humans, perhaps even contributing to tumorigenesis; and second, the viral detection may be due to an artifact. This seems to ignore additional uncertainties. Such studies showing evidence of a viral presence assume it to be an aggravating factor, a “driver” of malignancy and not necessarily a cause. However, if a low-level, smoldering, virus causes malignant transformation, once that is triggered, it need not continue growing in order for tumors to form and spread, so a low number of virus particles might end up being deadly but disregarded as having an important role if only present in low numbers or below level of detection. Also, there is the limitation that only known viral sequences were searched for, so no novel viruses could even be discovered by this survey. Edward Griffen, World Without Cancer, a meaningful representation of Vitamin B17 (Laetrile) benefits as a valid treatment for cancer?ClosedNicola asked 3 days ago • Healing Modalities18 views0 answers0 votesYou have said you would not recommend fenbendazole for treating or preventing cancer, but would support use of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. Dr. Andreas Kalcker promotes treatment of cancer using Chlorine Dioxide Solution to first reach a clinical redox plateau, then introduces albendazole/fenbendazole to impose mitotic stress, and then adds ivermectin to quiet excitatory signaling. In this scenario, the fenbendazole is used to block glucose handling by cancer cells to limit energy availability, and destabilize microtubules to hinder cell division. Is his theory sound? Is his timed sequence a more elegant way to utilize fenbendazole effectively to derive benefit?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities190 views0 answers0 votesA practitioner asks: “An article [on the Internet] discusses the potential of fenbendazole, a common antiparasitic drug used in veterinary medicine, as a treatment for cancer. Fenbendazole (FBZ) has gained attention due to anecdotal reports suggesting it may have anticancer properties. FBZ may also enhance the efficacy of traditional cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation. FBZ though has no clinical literature as an anti-cancer treatment. How likely is it that FBZ could be a safe and effective anti-cancer treatment given that there are no treatment protocols, dosage, or side effect knowledge?”ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities326 views0 answers0 votesA viewer asks: “Recently I started taking a sulforaphane supplement by the name of Broq and within two weeks I noticed surprising benefits. My energy levels have been slightly elevated along with my mood, my hair shedding has returned to normal levels and my complexion has improved. Does sulforaphane have anti-viral properties or is the sulforaphane working somewhere downstream to mitigate symptoms and damage caused by chronic viral infections? Can sulforaphane provide broad benefits to a majority of people by protecting against various forms of cancer, prevent cardiovascular disease, reduce symptoms of autism, and slow aging or are these claims exaggerations?”ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities192 views0 answers0 votesA recent paper describes a pretty convincing case study of a skin cancer caused by Human Papillomavirus. Was this accurately described?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Extraterrestrial Interlopers171 views0 answers0 votesYou have told us that 85% of cancers are caused by viruses, and also that, contrary to dermatologists’ thinking, malignancies in the skin, including melanoma, are not due to sun exposure as much as it is to electromagnetic frequencies, which bombard people’s skin. What percent of skin carcinomas are caused by viruses?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Extraterrestrial Interlopers193 views0 answers0 votesA number of studies have shown that Berberine has anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral activity. It inhibits replication of herpes simplex virus, human cytomegalovirus, human papillomavirus, and human immunodeficiency virus. Would taking Nutreb’s berberine supplement containing 1200mg of 98% pure berberine hydrochloride (HCl) with added BioPerine for 5X higher absorption confer meaningful antiviral benefits?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities143 views0 answers0 votesI am concerned about recommending people take 12 mg of ivermectin daily for 3 weeks (along with hydroxychloroquine). Was I over-influenced by having that interchange with [Name Withheld] about “his protocol” to believe that giving both compounds would effect a viral cleanout? Was this a lesson to me about being more thorough, knowing as I investigated the literature about appropriate doses of ivermectin I would see the pharmacokinetic data, revealing the inability of oral administration to reach antiviral concentrations? What is most important for me to know?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities124 views0 answers0 votesRecommending use of ivermectin in a way that is not even scientifically supportable seems like a big risk, even if you say it will work. What am I missing? How can high protein binding not be a hindrance to achieving a therapeutic exposure to free drug? Is there a scientific phenomenon here not yet scientifically understood or appreciated, at least not be me? Can you give us a tutorial to explain your continued endorsement and value of ivermectin, in addition to hydroxychloroquine which has demonstrated in vivo efficacy as an antiviral?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities130 views0 answers0 votesIn a paper on the pharmacokinetics of ivermectin, they report that even at a very high dose, free plasma levels never get close to the concentration needed, shown by in vitro studies, to demonstrate antiviral activity because ivermectin is 93% bound to plasma proteins. Yet, you have reassured us that taking an oral dose of 12 mg daily for 3 weeks would be effective in many cases for getting a profound, if not total, eradication of susceptible chronic viruses. Can you explain how that is possible?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities114 views0 answers0 votesDoes cod liver oil contain significant antiviral activity, enough to diminish viral disease symptoms or even cure chronic viral maladies?ClosedNicola asked 4 months ago • Healing Modalities139 views0 answers0 votesIs it safe and more beneficial to substitute a 1000 mg dose of squalene for the Cannabitol 5000 in our Antiviral Regimen with respect to having good antiviral as well as anticancer effects? I am concerned about how long the Cannabitol will be on the market, but do not want to make a change that gives poorer results unless it’s the only alternative.
