When I was a child, I was teased and frozen out by others for not being like them. In other words, chatting about nothing really. I was always alone. I sometimes had no idea who they were and had never seen them before until they walked past me and called me a witch. Every day for three years. After those three years, I was burnt out and my grades came tumbling down with it. Despite this, my mother managed to find me a college where no one from the school would be able to follow me. In that first year of college, I struggled enormously with myself and reading things that were of no interest to me. I had no friends, no direction, and no real interests. Throughout those years of torment, my mother had taken me to see a plastic surgeon to see if they could remove the tip of my chin. Each time, I was told that I was too young to have the operation as I was still growing. At the end of my first year at college, I couldn’t take it anymore. A last visit to see the surgeon had proved a no-go, and a whole group of people had been staring at me as they were in training for plastic surgery. My heart broke at that point. It is still a strong emotion in me to this day. I don’t cry today, but I can still feel the power of the moment. I decided to end my life at that point. I removed any paperwork from school I had connected to me as I didn’t want anything to trouble anyone else. I was going to jump in front of a bus or car. It didn’t matter and no one else mattered. Not my family or siblings. Not the person who would end up driving into me. I started to feel relaxed and okay with the world as I was intent of never going back to college again, that this summer was to be my last.
