Presumably anyone can invite metaphors to come into consciousness for any aspects of life – health, wisdom, relationships, etc., from their intuition or imagination. To what extent though can the conscious mind alter the metaphor to achieve a significant healing benefit? For example, if a metaphor occurred of a burning fire as a symbol for a pain in the body would it be beneficial to imaginatively put the fire out, so to speak, using water?
