Sixty percent of college graduates today are women. Women are increasingly filling managerial roles and displacing men in numerous professional occupations such as law and medicine. Men, by and large, have no issues “dating down” and entering relationships with women who earn much less than they do, and who are even unemployed altogether. Whereas, the opposite is almost never true for successful women. The dating scene is especially problematic, and even deeply traumatic, for single mothers of all ages. With the divorce rate above 50%, along with the huge number of births happening out of wedlock, it’s reaching the point where more children are being raised by single mothers than are being raised by married cohabiting biological parents. Overwhelmingly, most single men, and more often than that, the more desirable single men, want nothing to do with a single mother.
