Was this an important lesson, that praying to see signs of a miracle may, indeed, be met only half way? Is this a common occurrence? Can some people praying for healing be actually healed in order to extend their lifespan, but still left with symptoms that are actually harmless, even if inconvenient, in order to honor inner doubts of theirs or skeptical observers?

A student writes: “In the area where I live there are no nearby ponds or lakes where frogs and toads can live and thrive. As a matter of fact, I have never seen frogs in my neighborhood since I moved here 8 years ago. One of the problems we have here are the nasty flies, especially during the rainy season. To my surprise, not a long time ago I began to hear in the plants around my porch, a frog noise, right in the area where the flies concentrate and begin to buzz at around sunset. My first thought about the newcomer little green frog was how did he make it to my house? I could never figure that out, but was content that at least the frog has plants to live with and plenty of flies to feed from. I now wonder if that was a Divine intervention to help reduce the fly population around my house.” Is he correct?
