A viewer asks: “My mother (who passed away a number of years ago) was very devoted to Padre Pio da Pietrelcina. Every time I used to visit her in Italy, she had many images of this great human being. On one of my trips back to Italy, many years ago, I went with my wife to the Monastery where he lived his austere, simple, and humble life, helping many, many people. I also visited the small room where he used to live in the convent with a big Cross over his bed and only a small table and a chair for furniture. I then went to see his embalmed body kept in a coffin with a glass top in the Church. Experiencing where he spent most of his life, his tiny room, and seeing him displayed, I was overwhelmed with a strong feeling of love for this great man, how he lived his life, for all the help he gave to others. I also felt humility and respect. The loving energy I experienced when I was there, I have no words to describe it. On the drive to see the buildings, I had been upset with my own life standing and various failures. After reviewing the church, I continued my inspection at the apartments.
