A viewer asks about the recent altercations with her grandnieces she takes care of, which has split up the family: “I just wanted to give you some feedback regarding our holiday…I had to bring the girls home three days early due to the bad behaviors towards myself, each other, and in public. Emotions were very high between the three of us right up until we got home to our house in the UK. Soon after we arrived home an altercation broke out between myself and one of my grandnieces. She then proceeded to call the police and I was arrested and locked up for 17 hours. Since then, social services have put them both in temporary care at my request. Hence, the holiday I took them on to bring us all together has broken Us Apart. I am hoping there is a path way back for all three of us…Can you please ask Creator if this temporary separation will help us all heal and bring less targeting between the three of us?”

A practitioner asks: “I have a couple that have been our friends for years. They have been having marriage issues which includes a lot of fighting. I’m not sure if the fights are physical fights but for sure a lot of arguments. A few weeks ago they got into a fight, and the husband was so angry he punched the floor with his hands, which resulted in BOTH of his hands being broken. He had to have surgery. I prayed for him and his recovery. I know a lot of the issues are karmic. However, the incident seems drastic, especially because they’re in the process of moving house and now he’s unable to help pack things up for moving. He can’t do anything with his hands, he needs help even when he goes to the bathroom. They’re into the New Age Movement stuff. “Shame on you!” We’ve all heard it, and we’ve all said it. The Oxford Dictionary defines shame as both a feeling and an action, “a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior,” as well as, to “make (someone) feel ashamed.” Shame is a feeling nearly everyone everywhere tries to avoid, with the irony being that those most vulnerable to criticism are the ones most prone to overindulge in attempting to elicit that feeling in others. Ivan Pavlov demonstrated a “conditioned response” in the dogs he used for experimentation. Some of these experiments were quite cruel and involved electric shocks to impair or elicit both involuntary physiological as well as behavioral responses. The act of shaming is actually a very similar paradigm, and it’s easy to imagine the one doing the shaming as having an electric shock button that they press to deliver a very uncomfortable at best, and excruciatingly painful at worst, emotional shock to the recipient’s consciousness.
