Normal GULO is an enzyme that catalyzes the reaction of D-glucuronolactone with oxygen to L-xylo-hex-3-gulonolactone. This then spontaneously forms Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). However, without the GULO enzyme, no vitamin C is produced. Other mammals like guinea pigs, bats, and dry-nosed primates have gained the same defect. It seems odd that a deleterious random mutation would become dominant in the human lineage. Is that what happened, or was there a sinister manipulation of the human genome?ClosedNicola asked 3 weeks ago • Extraterrestrial Genetic Manipulations51 views0 answers0 votesIf human DNA was corrupted deliberately, what caused the problem in other mammalian species?ClosedNicola asked 3 weeks ago • Extraterrestrial Genetic Manipulations57 views0 answers0 votesBrazilian wildlife experts have been left baffled after discovering a dead humpback whale in the Amazon rainforest. The 10-ton mammal was found in the jungle undergrowth on the island of Marajo, which sits at the mouth of the Amazon River. Although scientists presume the enormous creature was hurled onshore during a storm, they do not understand how it came so far inland or why it was swimming off the coast in the first place. What truly happened here?ClosedNicola asked 5 years ago • Animal Issues624 views0 answers0 votes
