Introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Borg was an alien collective of fused biological beings with advanced technology to create a hive mind, considered by many to be the ultimate science fiction villain ever created. The Borg literally had no conscience, no love, no compassion, and saw the entirety of existence as simply a quest for more resources, more control, more power, and greater levels of technological prowess. Was the idea of this ultimate villain and menace to humanity divinely inspired? And if so, what is the important message behind their depiction?
