People don’t have a need to simply be part of a consensus, but to be part of the “right” or “correct” consensus. A friend of a GetWisdom founder confessed recently that the recent election of a particularly controversial politician was one of the most stressful things that ever happened to him. This seems an extraordinary thing for a man in his mid-fifties to confess. Clearly, he wants to be a member of the “right” consensus, but when politics is split almost evenly down the middle, determining which consensus is the “correct” one, is no longer obvious. Is this an accurate way to try and understand his dilemma and angst?

But for all its promise, most people end up in a political, religious, and social “echo chamber” within these platforms. Social forum platforms like Facebook, seem to have such incredible promise as an electronic “public square” where everybody can participate, where people can debate issues, present supporting data and evidence easily, and enable everybody to become more informed at a deep level about all the myriad things impacting their lives. But the reality is, it seems very few actually want to engage at a deeply thoughtful level, and instead use the platform simply for reinforcing their already entrenched beliefs, and attacking and ridiculing anyone who tries to challenge them. Can Creator share why this ideal of an electronic public square, has so fallen short?

In a recent online discussion, the poster of an article on a very contentious topic enjoyed an avalanche of likes and supportive comments from friends and family members of similar persuasion. But one family member tried to help soften the collective view of the opposition as everything from crazy and stupid, to downright evil. After challenging this consensus on point after point, and using evidence and scientific findings not in alignment with the embraced narrative, the creator of the thread said this, “Please don’t argue on my Facebook page. I don’t go on your page and denigrate your posts.” Can Creator comment on why so many people see a highly contentious topic thread they create as somehow equivalent to a holiday party in their backyard, with the unspoken rule that you “never criticize the host?”

Social media “trolls” and bullies are truly an epidemic. Often these are people who would never be so bold and derogatory in person. It seems every echo chamber has its self appointed “bouncer” who sees it as their job to drive away anyone who brings a dissenting opinion. Rather than engaging in a thoughtful discussion of any kind, they “go for the jugular” and call the opponent every name in the book. No amount of character assassination is too much, and even family members sit back and sometimes even cheer on the “bouncer” as they ravage a family member—something they would probably not be a party to in person. This from people who fancy themselves as highly opposed to any kind of overt bullying. Can Creator comment on this apparent hypocrisy?

A viewer asks: “There has been much talk, much consternation, and even more despair (amongst our GW/LHP Family) about the upcoming coronavirus vaccination plan. We know the plan is nefarious from start to finish. Worst case, if we don’t take the vaccine, we might not be able to leave our homes, go to work, access our bank accounts, or buy anything. Some see this as the “Mark of the Beast,” most see it as the “Final Solution” in accessing and changing our DNA and linking us with artificial intelligence, and losing our divine gift of free will. I have been giving it a lot of thought, and don’t want to immediately accept the “doom and gloom” as our eventual fate. I want to be here to continue the Great Work we have been charged with. I have always thought that I would not take the vaccine when the time came, as I’ve never been a huge proponent of the vaccine agenda. I’m wondering if we DID take the vaccine, so that we would still be around to work and eat and do as many LHP sessions as we can, would that be feasible? Could we ask Creator for divine protection from the nefarious effects of the vaccine? Could we ask for divine protection from what is to come? Or should we just refuse it and accept what comes?”

Can we ask Creator for help and protection? What should we do? It looks like we have at least until the end of this year before they are able to rush the first vaccine, but after that…?
