The LHP session was helpful. Your arguments have had their effect as well, so this is a testament to your using both approaches effectively. As you know, this is a difficult task, to take someone with firm, fixed opinions and open up their thinking. Most people will not be flexible enough to be susceptible to logic, reason, or charm. So your friend is in the camp of someone with strong opinions but who can think dispassionately and carefully to consider more than one side to an argument, and anyone who can do that is capable of changing their mind. So those individuals are more reachable and you are cultivating a logical approach to reaching such persons to be in a position to persuade them to your side of the argument. That is still no mean feat, so you are to be congratulated for the dedication and diligence you are applying. It will have portability in the sense of being an armamentarium that can be brought to bear for this as a general problem, to take on the critic who is complacent in their ignorance and help them see the gaps in logic, the lack of factual backing for their assumptions, and so on, so we do see this as a useful exercise and preparation for greater things to come.
