DWQA QuestionsCategory: Animal IssuesA viewer asks: “I understand from previous questions that dogs and cats, in particular, were created as companion animals for humans. As a chicken and fish-eater myself, now with a dog, I often struggle with the concept of not just eating meat myself, but also by providing it for my dog. Dogs are often prone to run after rabbits and birds. Cats are prone to play with their prey. How does that fit in with being compassionate versus animal instinct? What is Creator’s perspective, please?”

What you are observing are things that are context-specific to your existence as a divine human encased in an animal body for purposes of incarnation in the physical realm you currently inhabit. It is a temporary arrangement for learning purposes and to solve the problem of evil as your divine mission. That is the intended role of humanity and the reason behind its creation, not to live like an animal as the be-all and end-all of existence and your continued destiny, but as a temporary arrangement so you can enter the fray on the physical plane and have a platform to use while doing it. As such, you closely resemble existing races of physical extraterrestrials. The companion animals were originally purely animals, living by their instincts, competing for food during their physical lifetimes. They were repurposed by us to make them more gentle, more people-oriented and very loving. This is quite extraordinary, but was done as a blessing to human and as a kind of steady reminder of something better than living solely through animal instinct alone, by tooth and claw, power and control, dominance and subjugation. There is a kind of love that is a part of the being on many fronts among physical creatures because it serves them when there is a need to group together, and to protect and rear the young, for example. Those love bonds for the young, are simply repurposing a part of Creator's nature that suits the lifestyle and existence of many lifeforms, but certainly far from all. Where creatures emerge fully capable of existing and maneuvering on their own through instinct alone, there is no need for loving parents. In the case of the companion animals, they were already halfway in having the ability to love and care for their offspring. That was simply amplified and magnified to share with their companions, including human beings, if they choose. As such, they are representatives of the divine to remind and teach human beings the nature of unconditional love, and are a tremendous blessing and a source of comfort as well as companions. The idea of eating animal flesh is not harmful or a karmic misstep as long as animals are killed humanely. Many were designed for the very purpose of providing food for human beings, and are used as such as part of the farming enterprise in your society. There is nothing wrong with this, but many have been conditioned by influencers to think of it as a kind of sin and that is not the case. It is difficult to have a safe and healthy diet without some meat and/or dairy products, especially eggs, as an excellent source of nutrition. The fact companion animals have the traits of naturally hunting other living things and eating them is simply reflecting their heritage, because they started out purely as animals that were then upgraded to serve as human companions and enjoy a more gentle lifestyle, being cared for as part of a human family and not having to rely on being a predator.
