DWQA QuestionsCategory: KarmaA viewer asks: “If autoimmune illnesses are caused primarily by chronic viral infections, is it possible for such an illness to be transmitted through blood transfusions, saliva, or sexual intercourse unbeknownst to the medical community? Should a person healing from autoimmune conditions avoid blood donations or sexual intimacy because they are putting the recipient or partner at risk of contracting a chronic viral infection?”

The problem of person-to-person transmission is a complex one and there is no simple categorical answer here. These chronic infections involved with the so-called autoimmune disorders are subtle, deeply rooted within cells, and are typically not present within the bloodstream and would not be present in saliva or other secretions, either. So it is really more the case when there is an initial exposure to such viruses where there could be a phase during which the virus is present systemically, until it takes up residence in discrete locations and then disappears from the circulation. So with respect to exposure, there is no real need, in a practical sense, to avoid sexual intimacy with a victim of such medical conditions. The issue of blood transfusion is more of a liability, but not because of the likelihood of viral transmission. Theoretically, that would seem to be the case, because a much, much, larger volume of bodily fluid is transferred from person to person with a pint of blood than the amount of other bodily secretions during an act of physical intimacy, such as kissing or having sex. But that would have to be quite unfortunate timing and not a typical blood donation made when a person is feeling rather well, and would be unlikely, in any event, during the acute phase of a viral illness. There is a more significant reason to avoid donating blood, and that is because it will transfer your karma to someone else and they will become entangled with you, including their karma as an inevitable rebound exchange through cording. So we have expressed this view in the past, that it is best to avoid transfusion no matter what might happen and even when dying of a medical emergency through blood loss, because karma continues indefinitely, until it is resolved and that includes being carried into future lifetimes again and again. These days, not donating blood is almost considered a selfish act, but that is the wrong way to think of it. It is a foolish act and even reckless, considering it creates a karmic entanglement that will confuse the future of both parties and cause many complications for them. So considering that the majority of physical maladies arise from karmic underpinnings, one could even say that blood transfusion, as well as organ donation, is not medically indicated and, at best, a trade-off having a downside.
