The impact was so brutal I wondered about internal bleeding, but although I was stunned from everything, I slowly realized that I was possibly just bruised and winded and lifted myself up and managed to mount the stairs to the main floor and then to my second-floor apartment. I was still not sure that I was not in dire trouble but I didn’t feel faint so I didn’t call for help (I live alone except for my dogs and the tenants in my building) and played it minute by minute. I iced the injured area and rested all day, and the next day went to see my chiropractor. He said three vertebrae were displaced and he put them back. He also speculated that perhaps I had a bruised kidney and suggested x-rays. I arranged for that over the coming days but everything was fine. Considering the force of the impact I really feel that I had a divine save on this one. Might be interesting to check on it with Creator. Were angels somehow involved in helping me that day?
