Appearance per se is not a gold standard among the extraterrestrials. Being ego-based and functional psychopaths, they simply do not care what others think of them because others have no intrinsic value from their narrow perspectives. The only thing that matters to them is how much power they hold and how much power others hold over them as a mark of where they fit into the power hierarchy.
