DWQA QuestionsCategory: Healing ModalitiesA viewer asks: “I came across hydroxytyrosol. It claims to be antiviral as well as having anticancer potential. It also reduces inflammation in the body. It is considered one of the most potent natural antioxidants.” Is this worth adding to the Antiviral Regimen? What is most important for us to know?

While this substance does have useful properties inherently, the problem is one of delivery to target tissues where it would be needed to exert its effects. As such, it is not potent enough to overcome its limited half-life and bioavailability at this point in time to present anything of value compared to the other nutraceuticals in the Antiviral Regimen. There will need to be a good deal of ingenuity applied to take this beyond the exploratory stage, and there are many other substances that are attractive candidates and more likely to be supported.
