DWQA QuestionsCategory: Coronavirus COVID-19A viewer asks: “There are 14,000 deaths registered in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). The swine flu vaccine was stopped after around 25 deaths. Just to put things in perspective.” Are vaccine-related deaths truly that large? Is the rate of deaths from the vaccine larger, and from a different cause, than infection with COVID-19 itself?

In actuality, again you are comparing apples and oranges because there is a distortion of the VAERS data that is unprecedented to make things look worse for this particular vaccine than historically has been the case. So there are many falsely reported deaths that are unrelated to the vaccine itself. On balance, the rate of deaths from the vaccine is not larger than would be the case had those same individuals been exposed to the virus and developed COVID-19. What the vaccine does to put people at risk is simply exposing them to the spike protein, and that will happen with natural infection and to a greater degree. As we have said before, those exposed to the spike protein from the vaccine who have serious side effects are the very ones who would do much, much worse than average if infected with the virus and might well perish despite medical treatment if they develop COVID-19 as a full-blown illness. So again, this is an exaggerated focus on perceived risks without putting the benefits in context and not in the context of looking carefully at the benefits to see the relative risk-benefit ratio.
