DWQA QuestionsCategory: Coronavirus COVID-19Are vitamin D, zinc, or lysine supplements helpful to use in protection against or treatment of coronaviruses?

These are valuable, each in their own way, for preserving normal health and wellbeing, and certainly at any time of stress or experiencing a debilitating condition that disrupts nutritional intake and begins to degrade bodily function, there will be a low tolerance for any shortfall in having essential nutrient levels within the body to maintain them in a normal range, because any additional physiological stressor could lead to fatality when people are in a fragile state of being. But that is not the same thing as administering higher concentrations exogenously hoping to have an antiviral effect or a compensatory protective effect on the ravages of the immune system battling against the virus, so these are not a good answer as supplements for that condition.
