The extraterrestrials can use psychic ability to perceive what an insect is seeing, so they can tune into that being and have a sense of what is happening. It is simpler to do with an insect than with a person, and that is because of the simplicity of the consciousness and the visual system both. So this is something they in fact do, and you have heard this before as an intuitive awareness and thought it quite strange, but like many things, there is more than a germ of truth here. This is something that eventually will be well understood and will be exploited in new ways as well by humans.
