So this was a very clever subterfuge that has been used routinely by the interlopers, as it is a perfect way to terrorize people. It is one thing to see a flicker in the corner of one’s eye of a shadow or perhaps a knocking sound or footsteps, it is quite another when there is a violent manipulation of objects in the household that could actually cause a person physical harm—it is a quite terrifying experience. This the interlopers know and will exploit it from time to time as a kind of game to add extra "fun" in their manipulations.
