This was an extraterrestrial, interdimensional, monitor device that was being used to check certain things within her being. It is not supposed to be noticed, but she was in a state of consciousness capable of seeing this energy and it registered on her consciousness because of its unusual nature and the triggering within of association with the aliens themselves, which for her is a source of great inner stress and conflict. It is not much in her conscious awareness but rumbles down below, so to speak.
