Elderberry has antiviral activity. The question again is the practicality of ingesting sufficient quantities to achieve therapeutic levels. In this regard, it is easier to introduce multiple natural foodstuffs, each of which has some benefits to achieve a basic level of effectiveness than to focus on a single food that might have minor effects on its own and be limited in feasible quantity to ingest. That is the case here.
