DWQA QuestionsCategory: Coronavirus COVID-19Would using nicotine gum be helpful in alleviating symptoms of long Covid?

This could be helpful in certain circumstances, for certain individuals, for certain symptoms. The problem is having no guidelines and way to know about amounts, frequency, and the appropriateness for using this as an adjunct. It is one thing to chew nicotine gum during an acute Covid-19 infection, it is another to work on symptoms of long-standing that could play out for many months. Becoming dependent on nicotine gum when it would be of uncertain and likely intermittent value for a subset of long Covid sufferers makes this less desirable as a strategy to be recommended.
