Dr. Peck wrote, “Raised without love, children come to believe themselves unlovable. We may express this as a general law of child development: ‘Whenever there is a major deficit in parental love, the child will, in all likelihood, respond to that deficit by assuming itself to be the cause of the deficit, thereby developing an unrealistically negative self-image.’ … When a child is grossly confronted by significant evil in its parents, it will most likely misinterpret the situation and believe the evil resides in itself.” What is Creator’s perspective?

This indeed is a common consequence of growing up in such an environment, but here, too, there is a deeper story. In almost every instance there is direct influence by interlopers on the participants. Those who are neglectful and abusive parents, as well as the victims, are manipulated through spirit possession working diligently to undermine them. This causes many inner conflicts and dark impulses of all kinds as well as a campaign of bullying to encourage faulty thinking, and resignation to their fate from this campaign of harassment and propaganda to denigrate and discourage the human host. Much of this takes place on a deep level of the mind, below conscious awareness, but it nonetheless takes a toll on the body and creates a tremendous stress response. And so the conscious awareness of mistreatment becomes magnified in the person's reaction to it from the deeper drama going on within them, and this will magnify the consequences of all they are subjected to, and their reaction will be much, much worse than even the harsh treatment observable by witnesses at times. Dark spirits work diligently to create abnormal thinking and can even create delusional thought patterns that persist as a way of making a person carry the load of tormenting themselves through repeating loops of negative self-talk. The end result is what you describe in your question, of the victim coming to believe their mistreatment is their own fault. It is a false belief propagated by the interlopers to corrupt their thinking and victimize them using their own mind against them.
