She didn’t call to invite me, she called to give me a heads up in case I find out about it without her telling me first. Okay, that was weird, but I’m kind of used to my mom and my brother not letting me participate, that’s been a lifelong thing. She asks: “When I was very little, I used to think how great it would be if I had, I don’t know, intuitive knowings, see things others can’t, know things others don’t, understand the nature of this world in a way that most don’t take the time to think about. I thought those things would be cool. Turns out they’re not. Turns out they’re horrible. Turns out it makes for a terrible time trying to blend in with those around me.
