DWQA QuestionsCategory: PrayerA practitioner writes: “Tonight, I took my pup outside for a pee break. He just wouldn’t stop barking, so I thought “maybe he has to pee?” As I stood outside, waiting, I mused to myself “well, I’m here – inside my body – safe enough for now – better get to it. God? The darkest, most EEE-VIL spirits – you know the ones, the really baaaaad ones … They need healing – it needs to happen – I’m here and I’m witnessing to you it needs to happen – I’m asking you to heal them – it’s time – yeah – yes.” Word for word that’s what I was thinking (’cause sometimes, I just talk to God – I don’t expect an answer, I just talk, like I’m talking to my best friend). Then I looked up (as I always do when I go outside at night). An unusually large and bright (like BRIGHT) comet appeared right above me (directly above me) and quickly zoomed to the right – and vanished. This one was brighter and larger or, should I say closer, then any I’ve seen before – and I am an avid skywatcher – I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of meteors. Perhaps it was just a lucky coincidence – it probably was … But a little part of me would like to think it wasn’t. Either way, today was a most excellent day. I hope yours was too.” Was that a sign?

This was a sign from the divine that we were listening and appreciating her partnership with us. This is not something we do routinely or may even repeat for this person. While that might be reassuring, it would become a kind of burden eventually and, in effect, would serve to maintain a level of doubt rather than allow her to grow with her belief to a level that is profound and unshakable whether or not there is a visible response to something she wishes to see happen. There are many requests of the divine that can only be answered slowly through time and quite indirectly in keeping with our "hands-off" policy in most respects other than those specific things desired that we can do without interfering with free will. That does not mean we cannot send a message if that is within the thoughts of the person. In this case, she was wanting God to be present, so we simply created a sign in the heavens matching her request in the way we typically carry out a divine intervention, something on a small level, on a personal level that might be recognized by that individual but would not be convincing to others as a sign that God was present. So it would not be leading others in some way or even her as a believer, but to keep this as a special reward and not a requirement for any future sharing of thoughts, as it would begin to get in the way rather than accomplish the purpose we had in mind in making this happen. It was a singular event to punctuate the loving thoughts she was having in wanting improvement for things in the world and very much communing with us on her end—that is what made it possible for us to provide a visible reaction in the way that unfolded.
