A preprint from a Cleveland Clinic study just reported, claimed not only that this year’s trivalent flu vaccine failed to show a protective effect, but those vaccinated had a 27%, significantly increased, likelihood of becoming ill. Was this the true outcome and reported accurately, or was the study flawed? What is most important for us to know?

This study was accurately reported, although the conclusions were incomplete. The actual increase in illness was due to contamination of the vaccine itself with viruses designed to induce illness, primarily of a chronic nature, but these will typically have an acute phase because of being foreign. And when first introduced and coming into contact with local tissues, and then systemic circulation, they will trigger an immune response producing acute symptoms of viral illness. It will likely be relatively short in nature for most, but that is highly variable because these are intended to be long-lived inhabitants of the victim. Therefore, the purpose is not acute harm but their ability to burrow in and persist in various parts of the body where they can survive and slowly fester to cause tissue injury and long-term damage to health and well-being, whether as malignancy or other chronic and possibly fatal illnesses, like dementia, heart disease, or a wide array of autoimmune disorders.
