DWQA QuestionsCategory: KarmaA viewer asks: “Can cellular memory be inherited or passed down from a parent/family member? If so, and if we become aware that this feeling or memory does not “belong to us” but can see where it originates, do we inherit that particular cellular memory as an opportunity to be an agent/conduit for a healing request for something we would otherwise not be aware of or is it just the way things work? Is the saying “the sins of the father are visited on the son” alluding to this?”

There are many examples illustrating the phenomenon expressed by this saying that "the sins of the father are visited on the son." That, indeed, is a karmic influence from the consequences of behaviors and events involving parental choices, either directly or indirectly. A person who is unreliable will make a poor parent, and the children will bear some consequences of this because there will be a certain neglect that happens. The parent who is harsh or even cruel, very self-involved, and selfish will be unable to express a full measure of love for their young and that, too, will take a toll. So we are speaking here of karmic energies and forces arising from actions of the antecedents who have a direct influence on things. There can be many intentions based on vows and pledges of all kinds, affecting an ancestral lineage, as well as negative forces involving psychic attacks, where there might be great hatred for an individual but a decision made also to take that out on the individual’s offspring. So they will be, in effect, innocent victims, but nonetheless, this might still be in alignment with the overall karma that someone who has caused great hatred in others is not in divine alignment in most cases, and that will come home to roost and affect not only them, but those in their circle of influence, including family members. So in effect, it is a circle of energy that is simultaneously a circle of karmic influences, with a back-and-forth sharing and intercommunication and influence among the players. But that is mediated via the energy of consciousness of those in the living. Once people have passed on, their consciousness withdraws from the earth plane. What is left is the akashic records. So only if the energetic signatures of events they have set in motion are also corded to participants in the event, like the offspring in some cases, will there be any influence from one generation to the next. But this will not be transported via genes automatically corresponding to stored memory or awarenesses, like cellular consciousness. The way station and linkage between generations is via direct interaction among living descendants with living antecedents, or via the akashic records that remain once someone has passed on and those in the living have had interactions with them while they were alive. So this scheme, in effect, front-loads recent business as being of the highest priority. But once people come and go from generation to generation, much of the energy dissipates and that is only logical because, by not being present any longer among the living, it would not be appropriate for those individuals to still hold sway over others as a powerful carryover of their prior presence. This is a way that a species of soul-based beings has a regular means of cleaning house, so to speak, so that the karmic legacy of old business cannot grow to become an intolerable and insurmountable burden.
