DWQA QuestionsCategory: Animal IssuesA viewer asks: “Elephants fascinate: Physically, they are vital to their ecosystems and the singular characteristics of their trunks are miraculous in their functionality. The 24 month gestation period and resulting families are the epitome of the bond between mother and offspring. Herd bonding is based on a wide range of emotions; from showing love to anger and grieving, and are so playful. Calves are very endearing. Elephants’ legendary memories, human-like lifespans and range of emotions perhaps explains why human-elephant hybrids are on the roster of Asian deities. Do they have individual souls? Do they experience karma? Could Creator give a tutorial on their creation and benefits for human culture?”

Elephants, indeed, are much like people. They do have individual souls and reincarnate just as humans do. They are also subject to the Law of Karma and experience karmic dilemmas and karmic wounding. So, like human beings, they are subject to the same consequences of trauma in their lives, because it will revisit them via the Law of Karma as a reckoning, just as for human beings. None will escape the need to heal what has been harmful in the past. Elephants can heal themselves much more effectively than human beings because they have not been manipulated to subvert their ability to connect to a higher realms. They were created by us to be within the ecosystem of human beings, at least within the climate zones tolerable to elephants. Every species throughout the universe was created by us. Not all are best suited or desirable to have on the Earth. Many, many, species have been brought here by extraterrestrials because they will pose a problem and the intent is to harm humanity. This is true of predatory species, including the kind on a large scale that endanger elephants. But there are medium-scale predators including the smaller carnivores and rodents and down through the insect realm and the microbial realm of pathogens like bacteria, viruses and fungi, not to mention the many parasites and the dangerous species among plant life. Like physical illness and emotional instability, dealing with a hostile environment in part represented by harmful species, the great intelligence of the elephant makes it a great companion for humans. And its immense size teaches about the possibility of there being a gentle giant, but one humans can contend with and even befriend.
