You have, indeed, seen correctly that you were impulsed with a warning to avoid this individual, and the car was used for emphasis to literally interrupt what was underway and give you time to think about the wisdom of proceeding. We cannot stop human actions unilaterally, but we often can interpose a distraction or a delay of some kind that does not prevent human free will but will buy time for them to consider divine inspiration, and its meaning, that will be sent as an offering to be considered, never as an order or an overriding control of behavior. Those warned must still choose to heed the warning and we are gratified that is the case here.
