This virus has indeed been tweaked to make it more deadly, but it lacks a high level of infectivity and properties favoring it to become a major pandemic problem. It is nonetheless serious and indeed, is an example of what we were warning about that the aliens are still not done with you. As long as they're here, they will continue causing problems bringing pain and death to many.
