Recently, I noticed he had lost weight. Now, his kidney values are as high as during his emergency. The vet is surprised he is still eating. Other than his weight loss, you would not know he had an issue. He is still active, playful, and hungry. I’ve had many pets, but he is most special. I have a bond with him that is difficult to describe.” What can we tell him?

We continue to work on your dear cat, and this represents somewhat of a challenge because of karmic issues that are a burden for him. In many cases, it is best to let nature take its course because that, in fact, will rebalance most karmic liabilities, whereas to short-circuit things with a divine rescue, even from suffering, may delay the return of negative karma until a future incarnation and things could be worse at that juncture. Sometimes a life lived is sufficient, and prolonging it further is not a net gain as you would presuppose, but may be disrupting workings of the Law of Karma and have some drawbacks that are unseen and unappreciated by the humans involved with a companion animal. But we are not here to tell you or him what to do. This is between the cat and its owner and will play out accordingly.
