As you saw intuitively in thinking about this individual and her story, her great concern was based not only on the natural desire of a young mother to protect her unborn child’s welfare, but also great inner fear from misgivings within the deep subconscious being aware of a karmic history when in several lifetimes she lost infants and young children to early death at the hands of ongoing epidemics during those lifetimes. There have been many periods of history with such scourges taking a huge toll, especially on the young from illnesses like whooping cough, scarlet fever, and quite serious bacterial and viral pneumonias.
So, unfortunately, she has been quite vulnerable to having an encounter with the virus take hold and blossom within her being because of the karmic predisposition to be vulnerable to infections that could threaten a child of hers as well as herself personally. Although she has been very, very careful, especially because of the inner fear she has carried, she does not live in total isolation and as she herself points out, there have been opportunities being in various environments and despite disinfection measures, may still have been exposed and this clearly happened. It is certainly the case that a chance encounter with viral particles in the air on an outing to a necessary appointment or even when outdoors and passing people at some distance represents a low likelihood compared to living with someone who is infected or spending many hours in a workplace where someone contracts the illness and may spread it even prior to becoming symptomatic. A chance encounter with particles may well cause a full-blown illness. This is well known from viral research, as in some individuals particularly, just a few particles may be enough to get something started that will blossom into a full-fledged symptomatic state, and that is what happened here.
