Milarepa was different from Christ in that he was not born or even spent most of his life in “light being mode.” But rather, was remarkable because he went from accumulating the karma of killing 35 people as a young adult, to full light being mode (en-LIGHT-enment) in a single lifetime. Many other mendicants throughout history have attained enlightenment, but Milarepa is rare, and perhaps even unique in having traveled from literally one extreme to another in a single human incarnation. Can you share how rare this kind of transformation is?

This is exceedingly rare and is quite unusual. That is because of the sheer enormity of the karmic backlog of almost all humans who have had multiple lifetimes in earth plane. Possession by the spirit meddlers is almost universal, as you know, and always ends up corrupting. Once this starts, things worsen and then the damage begins to mount. It is a combination of spirit possession and often the cultural setting, which in turn is a product of prior spirit manipulation but does provide all too often a quite low standard of conduct and a condoning of many non-divine practices. This too takes a toll and fosters all kinds of behavior and actions that drag individuals down and impair their lives and their subsequent incarnations as well, so all become bad examples to one another. It is very hard to break the mold when one is surrounded by misconduct that is assumed to be normal.
