Should we be striving to overcome this amnesia during our human life – is that a divine goal or purpose?

This is a broad purpose within the intention for the Shift in Consciousness, but the goal is to move far beyond simply having an intuitive reach, and that is the full ascension of the being into a higher dimension where the intuitive reach is unfettered and the issue is moot. To reach the time of ascension does not require opening the intuitive gateway. It could be helped by doing so, and that is why the divine realm is working on this as well, in addition to wanting a greater ability to give feedback and reward those reaching out to the spiritual plane for having these yearnings and desire for expansion and betterment. That raises them up, it brings them closer to Creator, and enhances healing operations ongoing, and all of this contributes to the shift and brings that day closer to hand.
