Are the extraterrestrial AI systems monitoring people’s thoughts individually through microchips and nanochips previously implanted through ingestion of food and beverages, but not actually psychic?

This is the major means through which they take the pulse of humanity as an aggregate. Given the extensive AI capabilities, they have the means to capture and process a veritable flood of information streaming forth from the minds of the many human beings among the living. This is facilitated by the widespread contamination of food and beverages with nanodevices that enable such spying to take place. This communication is quite sophisticated. The monitoring AI receivers analyze the thought patterns and, in exchange, send information back that impinges on the subconscious mind in the way of suggestions and promotion of beliefs they wish to harbor to contaminate human thinking and, in particular, to carry out their strategy of divide and conquer. This is how they ramp up passions on each side of an issue to create an unbridgeable gap, if they can, that will keep a contest going which turns into a fight and then a grudge match and a series of vendettas that may never stop. This is why some of the basic character flaws in the culture never seem to quite go away, things like racism, anti-Semitism, and so forth; they are reinforced regularly by this mechanism and they know who they are dealing with so they can tailor the message to feed the prejudice of their subject. They do not take the side of right; they take both sides because they want to pit them against one another. That way, by playing on the feelings and the emotions, they can ramp up intensity and passion for multiple perspectives and create quite a chaotic jumble of competing interests that may get ramped up even to the level of inciting violence.
