The Bible in Philippians 3:20-21 promises: “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” This passage does suggest ascension of our bodies so that they will be like his ascended body. Why is ascension to the “New Earth” either required or at least favored? What’s the point? How does a spirit “incarnate” onto the ascended Earth if they miss the Ascension Event? Is the whole point of the ascension akin to colonization of a remote planet? And will future generations be the product of actual pregnancies and births rather than ascensions?
