DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divinely Inspired MessengersA viewer asks: “My sister recently gave me a copy of a book entitled, “The Mystical City of God,” by Venerable Mother Mary of Jesus of Agreda (1602-1665). It is a monumental 4-volume page history of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as revealed by Our Lady to this 17th century Spanish nun. Venerable Mary saw in ecstasy all the events, and later, Our Lady told her to write them down in a book. Before I commence reading this 2676 page book, I’d like to know if it is, indeed, authentic and true. What can Creator tell us?”

These are authentic intuitive impressions, and by that we mean they are impressions and not a clear channeling that is verbatim. They also are influenced greatly by the perceptions and biases of the religious intuitive, as is true of psychic mediums in general. A genuine psychic medium, in order to do effective work in helping others, must be disciplined and experienced and have a good insight about what is taking place and holding the proper intention to get the most accurate impressions in a form that will be understandable and can be conveyed to others. This is no small thing, either, because most intuitive impressions are symbolic and subject to personal interpretation. So what we are saying is, this is a series of events in this nun's life that did take place as described, but will be influenced, for better or worse, along the way by myriad factors, and so, is not akin to a historical biography about facts and figures, events and circumstances gleaned from actual eyewitnesses, and so forth, as it happens when accurate history is recorded. That said, we can tell you there are many beautiful things that were shared that have great meaning and value, even to today's world. But like a work of art, the beauty will be in the eye of the beholder and not all will be as impressed or greatly moved by these words. Many of the things described, lack context and certainly have no independent corroboration, for the most part, and so must be taken entirely on faith. So that is the way to view such works, you get out of it what you make of it, and to some extent the reader's own intuition must come into play to help them assign most accurately, a true meaning for the words on the page. As with all divine communication, we cannot lead humans, to make them think or understand what we would like them to learn. We can only make offerings and respond to how this influences the humans perceptions and further intentions. A divine being might be able to follow-up to add greater detail, deeper understanding, and insight, and significant additional knowledge about something if a human responds with allowing, a yearning to know more, and especially, if there is discernment to appreciate what has already been offered. Because, if the person lacks understanding in their reception of an intuitive message, a divine being cannot simply correct them and get them back on track because that would be leading. So everything is critically dependent, in this case, on the nun who was highly attuned to wanting closeness, and that is the major reason there was a significant commitment by this divine figure to answer the call again and again.
