A practitioner asks: “How important is parasite cleansing for human health and does it deserve more attention in the Get Wisdom community?”

While there are many parasitic scourges, these are less important in the grand scheme of challenges to health and well-being than viruses by far. For one thing, they are much more readily diagnosed when serious, so at least they become a known issue. As with the problem of hidden viral presence, there are parasites that are relatively unimportant as a source of difficulty but their presence can mask a deeper problem that is viral or bacterial and if this gets out of control can become quite serious or even fatal. So we would say that much of the fear about exotic parasitic infestation as a chronic debilitating influence is an intuitive reaction to knowing something from the environment is intruding, and this represents a handy explanation as a culprit when it might not be the case, but some kind of chemical toxin or a chronic viral malady that is smoldering.
