DWQA QuestionsCategory: MetaphysicsA viewer asks: “Vedic astrology is an ancient system of astrology that originated in India thousands of years ago. It is deeply concerned with the soul’s evolutionary journey, focusing on what a person is meant to learn, experience, and evolve through in this lifetime, including inherent weaknesses or challenges. It claims to reveal patterns of emotional attachment, fears, how someone processes emotions, and insecurities that are carried over from previous lifetimes, how someone approaches relationships, career, family dynamics etc. How useful is vedic astrology in being able to offer conscious insights into a soul’s journey, karmic lessons, and the influence of cosmic energies on various aspects of life?”

Astrology has meaning and relevance more in a broad sense as a source of potentials which are then influenced energetically to varying degrees, and it is the latter interplay that will determine whether those potentials are realized at all or to a minimal or major degree. So what we are saying is, the astrological influences which have been recognized since ancient times are but one influence at work in the overall architecture among the energies influencing life forms, as well as the material components of the physical plane of the universe you are aware of inhabiting. Because of variability and uncertainty, especially about timing, other than an indirect influence in perhaps shifting the balance more to create a period of vulnerability that might or might not bring about a consequence, means that astrological studies and applications will have a high degree of uncertainty, and that limits practical benefit.
