DWQA QuestionsCategory: Human PotentialFrom the divine perspective, did Ney “blow it,” and make one of the biggest military mistakes in the history of warfare? If so, what are the karmic ramifications of doing your best, but still failing with some of the highest stakes imaginable?

We would not regard this a failure at all. What was needed was an end to the war and anything bringing that about was, on balance, a benefit to all involved on both sides of the conflict. As you rightly see, from the historical account, even with the possibility of a rewritten history or a filtered history that biases the overall interpretation of what happened and its consequences, there were more still alive to contribute and to enjoy a continued journey of their soul in the physical realm to help move forward as a consequence of the stopping of that war—that was a good thing. How that came about and who might have been blamed is an exercise in finger-pointing only and not a valid assessment or interpretation of what took place and its deeper meaning. All the divine can expect of anyone is to do their best and oftentimes that best performance, that highest achievement, will be seen quite differently from the human level perspective than the divine one. There are many we regard as heroes who were wrongly condemned and cursed by their human compatriots for a perceived shortcoming or failure when they were simply responding to a higher calling in some way that stayed their hand and kept them from compounding a problem and worsening things from a karmic perspective, even though this might make them look bad or even seem to be a traitor to the cause of the moment. We would say, "Those who are following divine truth and are on a divine path will always win because they will benefit from having done so despite any misunderstanding, not being appreciated by their fellows, or even if they are punished for their perceived failure." Most humans suffer and die at the hands of others, or because of the influence of other humans in how they are treated and the consequences to their life being more difficult because of it, all of which is inspired by the interlopers to darken things, to make life difficult and uncertain. It is the interlopers who have turned your world upside down and made everyone suffer, and it is they and not the humans they manipulate who bear the greatest responsibility for the evil that takes place.
