Many people will accept a less desirable home if they get it as a bargain, thinking they can do enough upgrades to make it livable and will benefit overall from such an opportunity. That is what is going on here. There are renewed curse-like attacks being directed, so this will be helped by doing yet another clearing of the participants and the location itself.
