DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divine GuidanceWhat is the divine perspective of the saying: “When all else fails, read the instructions?”

This has many applications. There are many approaches to solving problems and people have different ways of using their intellect and their inner creativity. There are differences in personality as well between those who want to be in charge and feel they already know things others don’t and trust in themselves to handle anything. Whereas others with lesser egos will not assume they have capability and may act slowly, if at all, and may avoid a complex task by assuming they will fail. Those personality characteristics will enter into any situation where one type of individual might assume the task at hand is similar to others they have already accomplished successfully and will not stop to look at the details before launching in. Whereas others, knowing there might be unexpected complications and are of a more planful nature, might read the instructions carefully at the outset to be sure there are no pitfalls from assuming they can go by instinct and prior experience alone. The biggest applicability of the saying is for those who are less disciplined, less planful, less meticulous, less organized, and less willing to take some time to learn more about what they are about to do and have the patience to proceed more cautiously. So that is the biggest proportion of the circumstances to which this saying applies. There are many similar corollaries along the lines of "Anything worth doing, is worth doing well." So those who fly by the seat of their pants, so to speak, may be successful but may also crash and burn and that will be much less likely to happen for those who take time to study where they need to go and how they need to get there before plunging ahead.
