This is a complicated arena with many nuances and individual circumstances and criteria that make it impossible to know in advance the depth and breadth of the benefit from a given session with the protocols. In general, it is not essential to know what troubles a person in order for them to receive benefit. After all, many times there are important issues looming the divine realm can see but are still not know to the individual nor those doing the protocol work. The protocols request many kinds of things be worked on, to the extent there is broad coverage built-in, so you need not agonize too greatly over this issue. The benefit of mentioning something in particular is to ensure it will be included as a high priority. As long as that is not done in a way that excludes other things from being worked on, but simply represents the intention of receiving a significant focus in its own right, you need not worry about applying enough or too little direction. In general, the benefits of mentioning specifics like current illnesses are twofold. The first, is to be sure it is included and given a priority, and the second is that doing so, in focusing on a situation causing suffering, will add additional human intention that can be used as fuel for the healing work. So that gesture will only add and not take away, as long as the intention is there to honor the entire body of requests in doing the protocol sessions.
