Do spirit meddlers attach to wine and liquor bottles, or even bottled water, in order to reach and be ingested by unwary drinkers?

This is very much the case, particularly with alcoholic beverages, but even bottled water can be targeted. It is simply a question of the probabilities a given material might be contaminated in this way given there are so many stores and so many containers of such goods that might become a target of spirits. But the spirits as well, unfortunately, are still present in large numbers, so that it remains a significant issue that is all too common.
