This is most certainly the case and is an ongoing karmic pattern as your work with the deep subconscious of both individuals is showing quite clearly. They have enacted these roles with the daughter as a tormentor and the mother as a victim again and again, as a part of disempowering the mother and providing an ongoing and never-ending stream of punishments as a form of retribution and a proactive disempowerment to keep her sidelined in life after life after life.
