Will this shorten her life by adding others to [draw on] her healing abilities?” What can we tell her?

You need not worry about having too stressful a burden placed on your dear pet in providing such a service function. It would, in fact, do the opposite. As a kind of Earth Angel, most dogs rise to the occasion and find it uplifting to be of service, and that extra human contact a kind of enrichment of life experience. They would rather be doing things than lying around the house all day napping in the corner. They were repurposed to be bringers of love and nothing gives them greater joy than to be a loving companion for a human being, and that they can provide for people with dementia, in particular, who are reachable on an intuitive level and know that a love energy is present whether they can show it with behavior or not. This is a great blessing to bring to them in sending love their way in an unfiltered and effective form—that is universally recognized as a positive and delightful opportunity by most people.
