This again is another powerful, real-world demonstration of the built-in readiness through acculturation and manipulation in a direct hands-on fashion for people to fall in line and take on the role of controller or controlled. This, of course, is tapping into cultural imperatives. In order to be a part of a civilized world there needs to be rules and regulations agreed upon and a way to enforce them. So this is a necessary function to be a decent citizen and an effective functionary of government, in carrying out its edicts, for the many employed in that way, to police things or maintain standards through oversight and enforcing regulations when need be to ensure compliance with zoning laws, safety rules, and so on. So even young children have a long karmic history of being in this paradigm. They are part of something bigger, a member of a family group and then a community, in most cases, and that is deeply grooved in with human experience and the heritage of an extensive history, mostly learning the hard way given that you have been met with opposition all the way along at regular intervals to cause disruption and obstacles to your progress.
The very setting of the schoolhouse is replicating that overseer versus supplicant paradigm with the teacher all-powerful and the students subservient, having to do what they are told. So they are not too young to know the drill. It is part of the human heritage but present at all levels of society as a routine. So here again, it is not shocking that when an arbitrary distinction is made to divide students into differing groups with false information presented by a presumed authority, that eye color is a believable indicator of worth, personally, the students already know what to do because this fits their inner programming to seek power over others and to expect others will do the same towards them. The fact that can lead to savagery is to be expected given the ongoing corruption to keep everyone subjugated and the human enterprise subverted to become what is, in effect, a prison colony and not a free world after all.
The useful part of this experiment is that it illustrates the role of beliefs as an actionable determining factor in human conduct. This is a direct parallel with racism being, in effect, a set of beliefs, and false ones, about differing worth based on skin pigmentation or other ethnic characteristics and superficial appearance people are made to believe has deeper significance even though it is untrue and quite arbitrary in its assumptions. The important factor here is that once it becomes believed it, in effect, is carved in stone and will override common sense and personal feelings to be taken as an arbitrary rule and criterion that must be followed, for that is what beliefs do, they lock a person in because the beliefs are like an instruction set governing thoughts, feelings, and actions.
So with a casual look at this classroom exercise, it seems like a set of arbitrary instructions cause a wildly inappropriate extreme in outcome, it is actually a well-worn path. In fact, people are groomed regularly with racist pronouncements, propaganda that is designed to exaggerate perceptions and assumptions about people, and that is because racism is very handy as a divide and conquer criterion that is so deeply grooved in, culturally and karmically, it can be a card to play over and over again, and successfully, by the interlopers wanting a way to stir up trouble. So this, at once, reveals a deeper object lesson about the issue of mind control manipulation and the programming on human beings, namely that you do this all the time to yourselves. That is part of the divide and conquer strategy as well, that even in your games and leisure activities you are manipulated to compete with one another to gain an advantage and to look for ways to advance your self-interest, often by choosing a strategy that undercuts others in some way or another. This is why "all is fair in love and war," because you are conditioned to go to war about everything, big and small, and this, over time, has normalized a perversion of things.
