Again, this is possible but not likely to devolve into a major illness, like an autoimmune disorder or the rise of a malignant tumor. There needs to be a chronic presence over a period of time that eventually causes a tipping point to be reached from a chronic disruption of mitochondrial function, through oxygen free radical formation, so it causes damage more quickly than can be repaired by normal defenses and regulatory pathways responsible for tissue housekeeping.
