DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divinely Inspired MessengersA viewer asks: “Recently, I had been studying the life and works of Jesus Christ. At one point during this time period, I received an outreach, a feeling of love followed by who I perceived to be Jesus who asked “Do you want to work for me?” I was a bit taken aback by the directness of the question and didn’t really respond. Was this in fact Jesus making this outreach? I do hunger for deeper divine connection in my life that is more “palatable” to my family but on the other hand I see many who talk Jesus through the eyes of “proper” doctrine which I feel can be a trap. Can Creator help me figure this out?” What can we tell him?

What we can tell you is that you were indeed communicated with by Jesus Christ, who took note of your interest and delivered a direct invitation to make a commitment by way of encouragement to pose the question. He cannot lead in the sense of many direct recommendations, let alone a mandate, or, we would say, God forbid, a commandment, because he is working under the same rules of engagement as all divine beings to allow human free will. This is why divine inspiration and guidance will be periodic and mysterious, not a consistent drumbeat or intrusion on your day. An outreach might be done when appropriate and when an opportunity presents itself through your being open to feeling or sensing, intuitively, you are in the presence of something holy. In other words, it is when you invite us that we can come closer to you. It will still be your responsibility to decide how you proceed, what role you might play in the day-to-day decisions involved with making a commitment and carrying out activities that you believe will be of benefit for yourself and others in helping the cause of the divine. There are many showing the way, as best they can, and there are many as you have seen, who do so in ways that are somewhat misguided, being too doctrinaire, heavy-handed, and even manipulative. As always, you can pray for divine guidance.
